It’s another comfortable morning across north Texas, as temperatures have dipped into the mid 60s to low 70s.

Yesterday we hit 92° at DFW, today I’m forecasting highs in the middle 90s, with a light NE wind at 5-10 mph. We also have an Air Quality Alert in effect for today as well.

Our weather will remain quiet tomorrow and Friday as the humidity slowly increases. Daytime highs tomorrow will be in the mid to upper 90s, low to  mid 90s for Friday.

The start of your holiday weekend looks pretty decent, however there is a slight chance for an afternoon or evening shower or thunderstorm across north Texas. A bit better chance for east Texas.

Saturday’s rain threat will be caused by an area of disturbed weather that’s currently in the western Gulf of Mexico. It’s forecast to come ashore along the middle Texas coast sometime early Thursday and then shoot NNE Friday through Sunday. As of now, the latest data suggests the track of this moisture will head more into east Texas. However, a slight shift to the west would increase our rain chances on Saturday. I’ll keep you posted.

Otherwise, the rest of your holiday weekend looks nice and hot, as we warm out of the low 90s on Saturday, back into the mid to upper 90s on Sunday. Plenty of sunshine will dominate the 4th of July and Tuesday, with afternoon highs creeping close to 100°. It may get even hotter than that by the middle to end of next week.
