The site provides environmental information, educational material, tools and links for general informational purposes. It is not a regulatory reporting service, emergency service, medical service or substitute for official instructions.

Air-quality information, data sources and APIs

AirQualityIndex.org may obtain, process, display or derive air-quality and related environmental information from multiple sources, including governmental or institutional monitoring networks, open-data platforms, third-party APIs, atmospheric models, forecasts and other authorized data services. Information may include observed measurements, modelled estimates, forecasts or combinations of these sources. Source attribution, observation or update times and methodology are provided where reasonably available.

AirQualityIndex.org does not claim ownership of third-party data merely because it is displayed, processed or made accessible through this website. Third-party data, databases, APIs, trademarks and services remain subject to the rights, licences, terms and conditions of their respective owners or originating data providers.

Data providers, API services and access arrangements may change over time. To maintain coverage, data quality, lawful use, reliability and service continuity, AirQualityIndex.org may obtain commercial licences or paid/higher-capacity API access, establish authorized or direct provider arrangements, supplement one source with another, replace a provider, or discontinue a source or feature when appropriate.

Provider-specific conditions may govern commercial use, attribution, modification, caching, storage, historical archiving, redistribution, automated access and other forms of reuse. AirQualityIndex.org aims to comply with the conditions applicable to its own access and use, but access to information through this website does not grant a visitor any additional licence or right to copy, download, store, republish, redistribute or commercially exploit third-party data. Anyone wishing to reuse third-party data should review and comply with the current terms of the originating provider or other applicable rights holder.

Attribution to a provider does not imply endorsement of AirQualityIndex.org by that provider.

Commercial relationships

The website may be supported by advertising, affiliate/referral relationships, sponsorships or other commercial arrangements. We may also enter into paid data, API, technology or service agreements needed to operate and improve the website. Commercial arrangements do not by themselves change the identity or attribution of the underlying air-quality source. Permitted use and third-party rights

You may use the public website for ordinary personal, educational and research browsing, subject to these Terms and applicable law. You must not attempt to disrupt the service, bypass access controls, overload infrastructure, misrepresent site content, remove required attribution, or use third-party data in a way that violates the relevant provider's licence or terms.

Automated extraction, bulk downloading, republication, redistribution, creation of competing data services, historical archiving or commercial reuse may be restricted by AirQualityIndex.org, an originating provider or another rights holder and may require separate permission, an API account, a commercial licence or another authorized access arrangement. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of third-party data or grants rights beyond those expressly provided by the applicable rights holder.

Availability and changes

We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Features, data sources, calculations, URLs and content may change as the service develops. We may correct errors or update content without prior notice.

Limitation of responsibility

To the extent permitted by applicable law, use of the site is at the user's discretion. AirQualityIndex.org does not warrant that every value or page will be error-free, complete, current or suitable for a particular purpose. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.
